BRONX, NY — A 38-year-old man faces multiple charges after a traffic stop on Bruckner Boulevard on Jan. 30, 2026.
New York State Police from Troop NYC, SP Bronx, arrested Miguel A. Palacios, of the Bronx, for obscuring his vehicle identification number and license plate, driving with a suspended license, and possessing an imitation handgun and brass knuckles.
A trooper stopped an Acura TL for vehicle and traffic law violations while on patrol.
During a roadside interview, Palacios was observed to be in illegal possession of a handgun, which was later discovered to be an imitation and non-operational.
Upon placing Palacios into custody, brass knuckles and a forged New York State parking placard were discovered in the vehicle.
Palacios was transported to the NYPD 43rd Precinct for processing and was later lodged in Bronx Central Booking.
He is to be arraigned at a later date on charges of attempted forgery of a vehicle identification number, a class E felony; criminal possession of a forged instrument in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor; criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor; aggravated unlicensed operator in the third degree, a misdemeanor; and unlawful possession of an imitation pistol under the NYC administrative code.
