WIND GAP, PA — A 47-year-old woman was arrested on multiple charges, including driving under the influence of a controlled substance, early Nov. 26 after a traffic stop on South Broadway in Wind Gap Borough.

Police said Kimberly Gold, of Wind Gap, was stopped at 12:29 a.m. after an officer observed her vehicle traveling northbound without front or rear lights activated.

During the stop, the officer noted signs of impairment related to possible narcotics use and administered standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated additional signs of impairment.

Gold was placed under arrest, and officers searched the vehicle with her consent, locating methamphetamine and related drug paraphernalia.

She was transported to the police station for a drug influence evaluation by a drug recognition expert, who determined she was impaired and unable to safely operate a vehicle.

Gold agreed to a chemical blood test, which later indicated the presence of methamphetamine and amphetamine in her system.

She faces charges of DUI controlled substance, DUI controlled substance – general impairment, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a vehicle without required lighted lamps.

All charges were filed through District Court.
