CLIFTON PARK, NY — A man faces driving while intoxicated charges after losing control of his vehicle and overturning early Saturday morning.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash at 3:32 a.m. at the intersection of Kinns and Pierce Roads.
James E. Schauffert, 25, of Clifton Park, was charged with DWI and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, both unclassified misdemeanors.
He also was charged with failing to keep right, speed not reasonable and prudent, uninspected motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, all infractions.
Schauffert is accused of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.13%.
He was traveling west on Kinns Road when he lost control of his vehicle due to unsafe speed, crossed into the opposite lane of travel, left the south side of the roadway, struck an earth embankment and overturned.
Two additional occupants were in the vehicle.
No injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved.
Schauffert was released on appearance tickets pending proceedings in Clifton Park Town Court.
