LITTLETON, NH — A man wanted on a no-bail warrant jumped from a bridge early Thursday morning after fleeing from police during a traffic stop.
Officers from the Littleton Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Cottage Street on the Veterans Memorial Bridge at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Jan. 21.
During the stop, a male passenger was asked to exit the vehicle and questioned regarding his identity.
The man initially provided officers with a false name.
Officers were familiar with the individual and knew he had active warrants for his arrest.
The man later identified himself as Cody Curtis, 35, of Lisbon.
Curtis was wanted out of Grafton County Superior Court on a no-bail warrant for violations of NH RSA 318-B:2.
When officers informed Curtis that he was under arrest, he fled on foot and jumped from the Veterans Memorial Bridge.
Curtis fell approximately 35 feet, landing on the embankment on the south side of the Ammonoosuc River.
Curtis was immediately taken into custody on the outstanding warrant and was additionally charged with resisting arrest or detention and breach of bail conditions.
He was treated on scene by Littleton Fire Rescue, who responded to render medical aid.
Curtis sustained injuries as a result of the fall and was transported to Littleton Regional Healthcare for evaluation.
Curtis is expected to be arraigned later today.
