ST. JOHNSBURY, VT — Two vehicles collided on Lackey Hill Road on Jan. 17, 2026.
Vermont State Police troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to the crash at approximately 2:14 p.m. near Mayhew Drive.
Caleb Smith, 24, of St. Johnsbury, was operating a 2020 Ford F550 town plow truck when he began reversing to turn onto an adjacent road.
Smith failed to see a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Thomas Allen, 35, of St. Johnsbury, behind him, resulting in a collision.
The plow truck sustained damage to its salt spreader, while the Silverado sustained moderate front-end damage.
Both operators were wearing seat belts and neither sustained injuries.
The plow truck was driven from the scene.
The Silverado was towed from the scene due to damage.
Roads were snow-covered and snowing at the time of the crash.
