TROY, VT — A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant while state police were investigating an unrelated incident.
David Briggs, 53, of Troy, was encountered by Vermont State Police at a residence on Loop Road on Jan. 17, 2026 at approximately 9:45 a.m.
An investigation revealed Briggs had an active arrest warrant for failing to appear on Jan. 13, 2026 for arraignment in Orleans County Criminal Court.
The warrant was for charges of criminal refusal to provide an evidentiary sample, a first offense.
Briggs was taken into custody without incident.
He was transported to Northern State Correctional Facility on $200 bail.
