BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 61-year-old man was found dead under a vehicle on Lagoon Drive West on Sunday morning.
Brick Township police officers responded to the area at approximately 11:57 a.m. Jan. 11 for a report of an unconscious male located under a vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers located a male partially under the passenger side of the vehicle.
The male was identified as Robert Grippe, 61, of Brick Township.
Grippe was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Grippe may have been working on the vehicle at the time, and the vehicle rolled towards his body, which proved to be fatal.
Hackensack University Medical Center paramedics and members of the Brick Township Fire Department also responded to assist.
The incident remains under investigation by Officer Dave Thergesen of the Brick Township Traffic Safety Unit.
