Man arrested on animal cruelty charge in Greenfield

GREENFIELD, NY — A man was arrested Saturday on charges of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals and failure to provide proper sustenance following an investigation into an animal complaint.

Richard M. Doyle, 30, of Greenfield, is accused of failing to provide sustenance to a Pit Bull that subsequently died, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office received the animal complaint on Dec. 24 that reportedly occurred on South Greenfield Road in the town of Greenfield.

Four other Pit Bulls at the residence were surrendered to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.

Doyle was charged with a class A misdemeanor.

He was released on an appearance ticket pending proceedings in Greenfield Town Court.
