Vehicle crashes into brook in Woodstock

WOODSTOCK, VT — The Woodstock Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash on South Woodstock Road on Jan. 2 after receiving an iPhone crash detection alert.

Police received the alert at approximately 8:55 a.m. in the area of 4445 South Road.

Upon arrival, officers found a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe approximately 30 feet off the roadway and into a brook.

The investigation determined that the operator, Astrid Ramirez Echeverria, 32, of South Woodstock, was traveling north on Route 106 when she lost control and crashed over the embankment.

The vehicle bore Vermont registration V629F.

Echeverria did not appear to have sustained injuries but was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for a medical evaluation.

Police did not observe any signs of impairment during their conversation with Echeverria.
