False report of person in water at Mac’s Pond in Manasquan

MANASQUAN, NJ — Police determined no one entered Mac’s Pond after responding to a report of a person going into the water on Dec. 30.

An individual arrived at police headquarters at approximately 10:45 p.m. and told dispatchers they observed someone entering Mac’s Pond but not exiting.

Officers responded to the location and determined no one was in the pond.

Multiple agencies assisted in the response, including Wall Police, Sea Girt Police, Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office Medstar and Maritime Emergency Response Team, Manasquan Fire District, Brielle Fire Department and Squankum Fire Department.

The individual who reported the incident was suspected of having a medical episode and was transported to a local hospital.
