NORTH BRANFORD, CT — Two men were arrested following a physical altercation at a youth hockey rink on Dec. 29.
North Branford police responded to the Northford Ice Pavilion at approximately 6:29 p.m. for a report of a fight between a coach and a parent.
Police said an argument began in a hallway outside a locker room after a youth hockey game ended.
The dispute escalated into a physical confrontation and was related to dissatisfaction over the amount of playing time the parent’s child received during the game, according to police.
Joseph Desmarais, 46, of Scituate, Rhode Island, and Brian Lacombe, 50, of West Warwick, Rhode Island, were each charged with breach of peace in the second degree.
Both men were released on a promise to appear in New Haven Superior Court on Jan. 13, 2026.
