NORTHVALE, NJ — A Harrington Park man has pleaded guilty to killing a co-worker with a hammer at a business in 2021.
Christian V. Giron, 28, of Harrington Park, pleaded guilty Dec. 12 to first-degree homicide in Bergen County Superior Court before Judge Christopher R. Kazlau.
The plea agreement calls for prosecutors to seek a sentence of 50 years in state prison, subject to the No Early Release Act, which requires defendants to serve at least 85 percent of their sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
On Oct. 27, 2021, at approximately 8:15 a.m., Northvale police responded to a report of a person severely injured at a private business on Ludlow Avenue.
Officers found Jeanette A. Willem, 43, of Northvale, dead from a head wound.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Northvale Police Department launched a joint investigation.
Investigators determined Giron, a co-worker, intentionally struck Willem over the head with a hammer inside the business.
Giron was identified as the suspect within hours of the murder and taken into custody.
Assistant Prosecutors Stephen Bollenbach and Kristin Rempusheski represented the state.
Mario Blanch represented the defendant.
Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 6, 2026, in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
