SOUTHINGTON, CT — A Waterbury woman was arrested on charges related to the sale of a stolen vehicle that had been altered with a fraudulent vehicle identification number.
Kristen Figueroa, 35, of Waterbury, was taken into custody without incident on Dec. 22.
The arrest stemmed from an investigation that began on Oct. 3, when officers assigned to the Waterbury Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force Unit responded to a fraud complaint at Blasius Chevrolet at 90 Scott Road in Waterbury.
The complainant reported purchasing a gray 2022 Acura TLX from Figueroa for approximately $30,000.
Investigation revealed the vehicle had been re-VINed and was reported stolen out of New York.
