STANNARD, VT — Vermont State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Stannard Mountain Road near the intersection of Sheppard Road on Dec. 22 at 5:05 p.m.
Carson Wells, 25, of Eden, was traveling north on Stannard Mountain Road in a 2013 RAM 3500 when he failed to maintain his lane and went into the path of a southbound vehicle, according to police.
David Demag, 53, of Greensboro, was traveling south in a 2013 Ford F-150 and attempted to avoid the collision, police said.
Both vehicles collided on their driver’s side in a sideswipe manner and came to rest in the center of Stannard Mountain Road at the initial point of impact.
Demag sustained suspected minor injuries, while Wells was not injured, police said.
Both operators were wearing seat belts.
All occupants were assessed and cleared on scene by rescue personnel.
Road conditions at the time were icy, dark and unlit, with snowy weather reported.
Wells’ vehicle sustained minor damage, while Demag’s vehicle sustained substantial damage.
Vermont State Police were assisted by Greensboro Fire Department, Hardwick Ambulance, Caledonia Towing and TBC Towing.
