HALFMOON, NY — The Sheriff’s Office received a public assist call on Nov. 4 at 12:39 p.m. on Prown Hill Road in the town of Halfmoon.
An investigation led to the arrest Thursday of Paul J. Newman, 57, of Schenectady on charges of forgery in the 2nd degree and offering a false instrument for filing in the 1st degree.
Newman is accused of submitting building plans to the Town of Halfmoon which bore a licensed professional engineer’s stamp and signature that were reported used without that signatory’s knowledge or consent.
Newman was arraigned before the Honorable Joseph V. Fodora in the Halfmoon Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
