PENFIELD, NY — A homeowner faces multiple charges after allegedly hosting a Halloween party where more than 100 teenagers consumed alcohol and one 17-year-old was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Medina Bijelic, 49, of Penfield, was arrested Dec. 19 at 5:30 p.m. and charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawfully dealing with a child in the first degree.

Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Bijelic’s home Oct. 31 at 10:32 p.m. for a report of an unconscious 17-year-old male who had hit his head.

Deputies arrived to find more than 100 underage individuals in the front yard and street.

Inside the home, deputies observed evidence of alcohol consumption, contradicting statements Bijelic made during an earlier call to the residence that evening for a report of underage individuals throwing objects at vehicles.

Deputies located the unconscious teenager with an apparent head injury.

Other teenagers at the party told deputies the 17-year-old had consumed half a bottle of vodka and was smoking marijuana before he fell and hit his head.

The teen’s blood alcohol level was .46%, more than five times the legal limit.

The teenager was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

Investigators determined Bijelic discouraged at least one teenager from calling emergency services for the victim.

Bijelic was issued a uniform appearance ticket to appear in Penfield Court at a later date.
