MAYVILLE, NY — A corrections officer at the Chautauqua County Jail has been charged with selling drugs to an incarcerated individual.
Dylan F. Gross, 27, of Brocton, was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, promoting prison contraband in the second degree and official misconduct.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division began investigating suspicious activity of a jail employee in October after a request from jail administration.
Gross was employed as a corrections officer with the Chautauqua County Jail at the time of the alleged incident.
He turned himself in to the sheriff’s office on Dec. 19 and was arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process at the jail.
Gross is scheduled to appear in the Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date.
