Man arrested on fugitive charge in Weathersfield

WEATHERSFIELD, VT — A New Hampshire man was arrested on a fugitive from justice charge Dec. 18.

Toby Colby, 58, of Newport, New Hampshire, was taken into custody at 1:50 p.m. on Bean Hill Lane.

The Windsor County Sheriff’s Department was notified by the Newport, New Hampshire, Police Department Detective Bureau that they were seeking to arrest Colby for witness tampering and stalking, both felonies committed in New Hampshire.

Newport police believed Colby was in Weathersfield.

Sgt. Keefe located Colby at 177 Bean Hill Lane.

Colby was transported to the Springfield Police Department.

He was held on $100,000 cash or surety bail and transported to Southern State Correctional Facility.

Colby was cited to appear in Windsor criminal court Dec. 19 at 12:30 p.m.

He is being held without bail at Southern State Correctional Facility.
