Man arrested on drug charges in Weathersfield

WEATHERSFIELD, VT — A 41-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant and drug charges after allegedly fleeing from a deputy.

George Ottenbreit III, of Weathersfield, was located at his residence on Route 131 at approximately 5:30 p.m. Dec. 6 by Deputy Watrous of the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department.

Ottenbreit had an in-state arrest warrant and pending charges from a previous incident where he allegedly fled on foot from Sheriff Ryan Palmer.

Ottenbreit fled from Deputy Watrous but was eventually apprehended, according to the sheriff’s department.

Deputy Watrous found Ottenbreit to be in possession of approximately 12 grams of methamphetamine.

Ottenbreit was transported to the Springfield Police Department where he was processed, cited and lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility.

He was cited to appear Dec. 8 in Windsor Criminal Court for the warrant as well as a later date for his new charges.

The charges include possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest, providing false information and attempting to elude.
