MIDDLEBORO, MA — A traffic stop attempt in Plympton led to a multi-town pursuit that ended with two arrests in Middleboro on Dec. 4.
A Plympton Police officer conducting traffic enforcement observed a motor vehicle commit multiple traffic violations in the area of Center Street and Palmer Road at approximately 4:05 p.m.
A records check revealed the vehicle had a rejected inspection sticker.
The vehicle failed to stop when the officer attempted a traffic stop and fled through Plympton, Carver, and Middleboro.
During the pursuit, the vehicle was observed operating at excessive speeds, crossing marked lanes, failing to stop at traffic control devices, and creating a danger to other motorists.
The vehicle came to a stop in a remote area off Tispaquin Street.
A high-risk stop was conducted and all three occupants were detained without injury.
A records check revealed that Joshua Mousette and Michael Kerr both had active warrants for their arrest.
A third occupant was released once the scene was secured.
The investigation determined that Mousette was operating the vehicle without authorization from the registered owner, with a suspended license, and while attempting to evade police.
Numerous open and unopened alcoholic beverages were recovered from inside the vehicle.
Mousette was charged with warrant arrest, use of a motor vehicle without authority, operating to endanger, operating with a suspended license, failure to stop for police, speeding, marked lanes violations, failure to stop at a stop sign, and a rejected inspection sticker.
Kerr was held on outstanding warrants.
Both individuals were transported to the Plymouth County House of Corrections.
