POTTER, NY — A Rushville man faces felony charges following a rollover crash on State Route 247 on Dec. 13.
Don P. Sipp, 49, of Rushville, was arrested after deputies investigated the single-vehicle accident that occurred at 6:55 p.m.
Deputies said Sipp was driving north on State Route 247 when his vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned multiple times.
Sipp showed signs of intoxication and was administered standardized field sobriety tests, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Yates County Jail, where he refused to submit to a chemical test.
Sipp was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, operating a vehicle without an interlock device, speed not reasonable and prudent, and moving from a lane unsafely.
The aggravated unlicensed operation charge is a felony.
Sipp was held for CAP Court arraignment the following morning.
Deputies Smith, Garren and Green responded to the scene, along with the Rushville Fire Department and Middlesex Ambulance.
