LYONS, NY — A 34-year-old man was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into multiple reports of suspected child sexual abuse material.
Timothy J. Daniel, of Clyde, was charged with three counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.
The investigation began in July 2024 when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children forwarded several CyberTipline reports to New York State Police regarding uploads of suspected child sexual abuse material.
The reports were referred to the NYSP Bureau of Criminal Investigation at SP Lyons.
Investigators identified Daniel as the suspected user of the online accounts referenced in the reports.
A search warrant was executed in February, during which investigators secured an electronic device belonging to Daniel.
The device was submitted for forensic examination.
Upon completion of the forensic analysis, investigators determined the device contained multiple files of suspected child sexual exploitation material.
Daniel was processed at SP Lyons and released on an appearance ticket.
He is scheduled to appear in Clyde Town Court on Jan. 7, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
