DORSET, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a 68-year-old man on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs following a single-vehicle crash Wednesday night.
Troopers from the Shaftsbury Barracks were dispatched at approximately 11:34 p.m. to a report of a crash on U.S. Route 7.
Upon arrival, troopers identified the operator as Leo J. Bartoli of Brattleboro.
While speaking with Bartoli, troopers observed multiple indicators of impairment, police said.
Following further investigation, Bartoli was arrested on suspicion of DUI drugs and transported to Bennington Police Department for a drug recognition expert evaluation and processing.
Bartoli was charged with DUI drugs, refusal and impeding public officers.
He was issued a citation to appear in Bennington County Superior Court on Dec. 29 at 8:30 a.m.
