SHELTON, CT — Police seized illegal cannabis products from two convenience stores on Bridgeport Avenue during coordinated compliance inspections.
The Shelton Police Department, along with several state, federal and local agencies, conducted the inspections Dec. 1 at stores located at 719 and 874 Bridgeport Avenue.
Clerks at both locations were found compliant and did not sell vape products to a minor during the inspections.
Inspectors then conducted licensing and product compliance checks and found both stores were unlicensed for cannabis sales and operating in violation of zoning restrictions prohibiting marijuana products.
Police seized 45 pre-rolled cannabis items weighing approximately 0.15 pounds from 719 Bridgeport Avenue.
At 874 Bridgeport Avenue, police seized 256 cannabis edibles, vapes and flower products weighing approximately 4.6 pounds.
All items were secured as evidence.
Both stores reopened following the inspections.
Police said arrest warrants will be sought for the business owners.
