JAMESTOWN, NY — Two people were arrested within hours of robbing a convenience store on Dec. 7.
Officers responded to a robbery in progress at 7-Eleven on E. 2nd Street at approximately 9 a.m.
Police learned that a suspect passed a note demanding money and then fled on foot after receiving a quantity of cash.
A second suspect fled in a vehicle and picked up the first suspect a short distance away, according to police.
The investigation led officers to an address in the Town of Charlotte.
Officers from the Jamestown Police Department, deputies from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, and troopers from State Police Jamestown and Fredonia located and arrested the suspects at the Charlotte address.
The suspects were identified as Johnee C. Thompson and Kaelyn A. Hayward, both of Fredonia.
Thompson and Hayward were transported to the Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment.
Both are charged with robbery in the second degree, grand larceny in the third degree, and conspiracy in the fourth degree.
Thompson and Hayward were released after arraignment due to New York State Bail Reform Guidelines.
