Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Littleton

LITTLETON, MA — Chief of Police Matthew Pinard reports that the Littleton Police Department responded and is investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near Littleton Common.

Littleton Police and Fire responded shortly after 7 p.m. to the intersection of King and Goldsmith Streets.

Upon arrival, rescuers found a 79-year-old Acton woman who had been struck by a sedan.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.

The motorist, a local food delivery driver, remained at the scene and has cooperated with police.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was walking in the crosswalk when she was struck, however the incident remains under investigation.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
