Man arrested on drug and weapons charges in West Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A Glastonbury man was arrested in West Hartford on multiple charges after being stopped for speeding on New Britain Avenue near Mayflower Street, according to police.

Officer J. Sanford of the West Hartford Police Traffic Division stopped a vehicle traveling at 66 mph in a 35 mph zone while conducting speed enforcement.

Police said the driver, Tony Reyes, 37, of Glastonbury, was taken into custody and transported to the West Hartford Police Department headquarters, where he was booked on several charges.

The charges include speeding 60+ mph, operating a motor vehicle without a license, illegal weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of more than 16 ounces of cannabis, possession with intent to sell a hallucinogen, and possession with intent to sell narcotics.

Reyes was held pending further processing.
