OSWEGATCHIE, NY — New York State Police arrested Justin H. Whitmarsh, 35, of Hermon, for criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree on Nov. 17, following an investigation into a larceny case.

Troopers responded to a complaint on Dry Bridge Road in Oswegatchie on Oct. 25 at approximately 4:29 p.m.

An investigation determined that a 2006 green Polaris Sportsman four-wheeler had been stolen from the property.

Further investigation identified Whitmarsh as being in possession of four-wheelers at his residence.

When troopers arrived at Whitmarsh’s home, they located two four-wheelers, including the reported stolen 2006 green Polaris and another vehicle listed as stolen in a separate St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department investigation.

Both four-wheelers were towed to a secure location, and the Sheriff’s Department was notified.

Whitmarsh was arrested, transported to SP Canton for processing, and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Russell Court in January.
