LITTLE FERRY, NJ — A 71-year-old man has been arrested on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Imri Osmani of Little Ferry.
The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Little Ferry Police Department, under the direction of Chief James Walters.
On June 15, the Little Ferry Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding alleged sexual assaults of a juvenile that occurred in the past.
The investigation revealed that Osmani sexually assaulted and endangered a juvenile in Little Ferry on more than one occasion between May 2018 and May 2020.
On July 3, Osmani was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
On Nov. 16, with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations, the Port Authority Police Department of New York and New Jersey, and United States Customs and Border Protection agents, Osmani was located and arrested in Newark, New Jersey.
Osmani was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
