Man arrested on drug, weapons charges in Bronx

BRONX, NY — State police arrested a man on drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 695.

Troopers from Troop NYC arrested Darnell Clinksdale, 37, of the Bronx, on Nov. 16.

A trooper patrolling southbound on Interstate 695 conducted a traffic stop near the merge with 295 South after observing a white 2018 Land Rover enter the shoulder to go around traffic.

After a roadside investigation, troopers determined Clinksdale was driving with a suspended license.

During a vehicle inventory, troopers discovered a stolen handgun, a loaded modified magazine and drugs.

Clinksdale was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C felony; criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a class E felony; aggravated unlicensed operator, a misdemeanor; and several vehicle and traffic law violations.

He was transported to the NYPD 45th Precinct for processing.

Clinksdale was remanded to Bronx Central Bookings to be arraigned at a later date.
