HACKENSACK, NJ — A 42-year-old man faces multiple charges including sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced.
Fernando Sandoval, of Hackensack, was arrested Nov. 12 following an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Hackensack Police Department.
The Hackensack Police Department contacted the prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit on Nov. 6 regarding an alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that occurred in the past.
Investigators determined that Sandoval sexually assaulted and endangered a juvenile in Hackensack on more than one occasion between Dec. 21, 2024 and Nov. 2.
Sandoval was charged with second-degree sexual assault, second-degree attempted sexual assault, two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.
He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court.
