HACKENSACK, NJ — A 42-year-old man faces multiple charges including sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation into alleged incidents involving a juvenile.
Fernando Sandoval, of Hackensack, was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree sexual assault, second-degree attempted sexual assault, two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest, which resulted from a joint investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Hackensack Police Department.
The Hackensack Police Department contacted the prosecutor’s office Special Victims Unit on Nov. 6 regarding alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that occurred in the past.
The investigation revealed that Sandoval allegedly sexually assaulted and endangered a juvenile in Hackensack on more than one occasion between Dec. 21, 2024 and Nov. 2.
Sandoval was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court.
