NORTH BRANFORD, CT — A Pennsylvania man has been arrested and extradited to Connecticut in connection with fraudulent charges totaling more than $4,300 to a local scholarship account.
Giovanny Jimenez, 31, of Beaver Meadows, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody on Oct. 21 by Pennsylvania State Police and extradited to Connecticut on Nov. 5.
The North Branford Police Department received a report on June 5 from a resident regarding fraudulent charges to a scholarship account established to assist graduating high school seniors in the North Branford community.
Detective Craig Miller led the investigation, which determined that Jimenez was responsible for the fraudulent charges and was residing in Pennsylvania.
An extraditable arrest warrant was obtained for Jimenez.
Jimenez is being held on a $25,000 court-set bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 6 to face charges of larceny in the third degree and identity theft in the third degree.
