SHELTON, CT — A 23-year-old man faces multiple charges following an alleged sexual assault at an apartment on Long Hill Avenue.
Sean Senerchia, of Shelton, was arrested Friday after police responded to a 911 hang-up call from an apartment building near Sullivan Avenue.
Officers encountered the female victim outside the residence, who stated that the suspect remained inside.
Detective Nugent reported that the victim knew Senerchia and had been invited into the apartment where the alleged assault occurred.
According to the victim’s account, Senerchia forced himself on her sexually.
During the arrest, Senerchia allegedly became confrontational with responding officers and was taken into custody on the scene.
Senerchia has been charged with first-degree sexual assault, third-degree strangulation, disorderly conduct and interfering with an officer.
A bond of $100,000 was initially set.
The Bail Commissioner’s Office later raised it to $250,000 after reviewing the case.
Senerchia was unable to post bond and appeared at Derby Superior Court on Monday.
