LYNDHURST, NJ — Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred overnight on the 1500 block of Valley Brook Avenue in the Meadowlands section.
The Lyndhurst Police Department received information Saturday afternoon from the Paterson Police Department that a shooting may have occurred overnight.
Officers responded to the area and observed evidence confirming a shooting had taken place.
Detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Lyndhurst Police Department conducted a joint investigation.
With assistance from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, investigators collected multiple spent shell casings from the scene.
Detectives identified one male victim who was injured in the shooting.
The victim arrived at Hackensack University Medical Center Saturday morning seeking medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
He was treated and released.
The investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Lyndhurst Police Department, under the direction of Chief Richard L. Jarvis.
The victim was non-cooperative with law enforcement, according to authorities.
