FORT ANN, NY — Two people were arrested following a joint investigation into alleged welfare fraud, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Raymond S. Kasuba Jr., 27, and Darci N. Kasuba, 32, both of Fort Ann, were charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony.

Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy said investigators determined the couple had been receiving temporary assistance benefits while both were employed and failed to report their income.

The unreported income resulted in more than $3,000 in benefits that they were not entitled to receive, according to the sheriff’s office.

Both were released with appearance tickets pending a future court date in the Town of Fort Edward Court.

Investigator T. Earl handled the case, with assistance from the Washington County Department of Social Services.
