Man arrested on child pornography charge in Hamlin

HAMLIN, NY — A 19-year-old man has been arrested on a felony charge of possessing a sexual performance by a child.

Robert J. Resides, of Hilton, was taken into custody following an investigation that began in September 2024.

The New York State Intelligence Center – Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received two CyberTipline reports regarding the upload of files suspected to contain child sexual abuse material.

Investigators executed multiple search warrants and conducted digital forensic analysis through the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit.

The analysis identified electronic devices associated with Resides that contained numerous files depicting child sexual abuse material, according to the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at SP Rochester.

Resides was processed at SP Rochester on Oct. 21.

He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Hamlin Court on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.
