FORT EDWARD, NY — A woman was arrested Tuesday on a felony charge following a benefits fraud investigation.

Shannon N. Kasuba, 28, of Granville, was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony, according to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy.

The arrest followed a joint investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington County Department of Social Services.

Investigators determined that Kasuba received benefits from the Washington County Department of Social Services that she was not eligible for, resulting in her receiving more than $1,000 in benefits.

The incident occurred at 383 Broadway.

Kasuba was released on an appearance ticket pending a future court date in Fort Edward Town Court.
