READING, MA — Two Maine residents face drug trafficking charges following their arrest in a commercial parking lot on Oct. 19.
William Lambert, 34, of Biddeford, Maine, and Noelle Hanson, 33, of Waterboro, Maine, were arrested and charged with trafficking a Class A substance, possession of a Class B substance, possession of a dangerous weapon and distribution near a school zone.
Hanson also faces a fugitive from justice charge on an active warrant from Maine.
Reading Police responded to the intersection of Main Street and Franklin Street at approximately 9:07 a.m. after receiving a report of an individual appearing to be under the influence standing outside a vehicle in a commercial parking lot.
Officers located a silver Toyota Camry with Lambert outside the vehicle and Hanson appearing to be asleep in the passenger seat.
Officers determined both individuals appeared to be under the influence.
A search of the vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia, multiple pairs of brass knuckles and two bags totaling 21.3 grams of a powdery substance believed to be heroin and fentanyl.
Lambert and Hanson were arrested without incident.
Hanson was transported to an area hospital for evaluation during booking.
Lambert was arraigned on Oct. 20.
Hanson was arraigned Oct. 20 and transferred to Massachusetts Trial Court custody.
