BATH, NY — A 33-year-old man was arrested after allegedly sending a lit cigar through a bank’s drive-through tube, causing an employee to inhale smoke.

Bath Police Officers responded to the Chemung Canal Trust Bank on West Morris Street on Sept. 15 for a report of an employee who had inhaled smoke from the drive-through money tube.

Police determined a male subject had purposely placed a lit cigar in the money tube and sent it inside to the employee working.

The employee inhaled smoke from the lit cigar and sought medical attention.

After an investigation, police arrested Jacob R. Fronk, 33, of Bath.

Fronk was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment, both class A misdemeanors.

He was issued appearance tickets and is due back in Bath Village Court at a later date.
