HILLSDALE, NJ — Multiple firefighters suffered non-life-threatening injuries while battling a two-alarm house fire early Tuesday morning.
The Hillsdale Police Department and Hillsdale Fire Department, along with mutual aid from surrounding agencies, responded to a private residence on Ellen Court at approximately 3:30 a.m.
First responders evacuated the residence upon arrival.
During fire suppression, multiple firefighters from the Hillsdale Fire Department and some firefighters from assisting agencies suffered non-life-threatening burns and other minor injuries.
The injured firefighters were transported to area hospitals for evaluation and treatment.
No residents were injured.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Arson Squad responded to the scene at the request of the Hillsdale Police Department and initiated a joint investigation with the Hillsdale Police Department, Hillsdale Fire Department and Hillsdale Fire Prevention Bureau.
The investigation revealed that the fire was not suspicious in nature.
