VESTAL — Police arrested a man on attempted rape charges following a domestic violence incident, authorities said.
The Vestal Police Department said officers responded to a domestic violence call and located the suspect while he was attempting to leave the area.
A loaded firearm was recovered during the arrest, according to the Broome County District Attorney’s Office.
The department’s investigative division secured additional evidence to support the charge of attempted rape in the first degree, police said.
The suspect’s name was not immediately released.
