FORT EDWARD — William A. Kaminski, 55, of Glens Falls, was arrested Thursday on charges of welfare fraud in the third degree, a class D felony.

The arrest followed a joint investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington County Department of Social Services, according to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy.

Investigators determined that Kaminski committed a fraudulent act and received benefits from the Washington County Department of Social Services that he was not eligible for.

The fraudulent benefits totaled more than $3,000.

The incident occurred at 383 Broadway in Fort Edward.

Kaminski was arraigned in Central Arraignment and released on his own recognizance.
