PENN YAN — A 57-year-old Columbia, South Carolina woman was arrested by Penn Yan Police following a traffic stop in the village.
Amita Verma was observed operating a motor vehicle on Lake Street at 45 mph in a posted 30 mph zone.
A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with Verma.
A license check showed Verma to have a suspended New York state driver’s license.
Verma was issued traffic tickets for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd and Speed in Zone.
She is to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
