WEST SENECA — The West Seneca Police Department handled 471 complaints between Sept. 28 and Oct. 4, including a fatal motorcycle accident and an armed home invasion.
A 30-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday morning after colliding with a car at Union and East & West roads just before 7 a.m.
The motorcycle was traveling southbound when it struck a car turning left from Union onto East & West, according to police.
Multiple witnesses provided accounts to investigators and began life-saving efforts before officers arrived.
The car’s driver was not seriously injured.
The Accident Investigation Unit continues to investigate the crash.
On Tuesday, two brothers reported being robbed at gunpoint in their Burgundy Circle home around 3:30 a.m.
Four masked suspects entered the residence, with two displaying handguns and threatening to shoot the victims if they moved, police said.
The suspects stole wallets, cell phones, cash and credit cards before tying up the brothers with plastic cables and assaulting them.
The suspects fled in the victims’ vehicle, which was missing from the driveway.
Detectives are investigating the incident.
Other incidents during the week included multiple tire slashing reports, shoplifting arrests, and vehicle thefts.
A Buffalo man’s car was stolen from Southgate Plaza on Friday while he was at LA Fitness, despite taking his keys with him.
On Saturday, a vehicle theft led to a police pursuit that was called off for safety concerns before Cheektowaga Police recovered the car and arrested several juveniles.
A house fire on Wiesner Road early Thursday morning was extinguished by firefighters after a homeowner attempted to put out flames on her side porch with a garden hose.
The homeowner was not injured, and fire investigators are determining the cause.
