PENN YAN — A 22-year-old woman was arrested after police say she left her seven-month-old child unattended in an apartment building.
Faith Roper of Penn Yan was charged with endangering the welfare of a child following the incident.
Police responded to a report of a child being left unattended.
Officers determined Roper allegedly got into an argument with her ex-boyfriend and left the infant outside his apartment in a common entry area of the apartment house.
The ex-boyfriend reportedly did not know the child was left there and found the baby crying.
Roper was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
