Sodus tractor-trailer crash leaves driver in critical condition

SODUS — New York State Police responded to State Route 104 in the town of Sodus, Wayne County, for a report of a tractor-trailer rollover crash on Sept. 15 at approximately 11:40 a.m.

Troopers arrived on scene and located a 2018 Kenworth tractor-trailer overturned on its passenger side in the ditch along the south shoulder of the roadway.

The sole occupant and operator, identified as Timothy J. Zrebiec, age 45, of Manilus, NY, was found partially ejected from the vehicle and unconscious.

Emergency medical personnel from Wayne County EMS and the Wallington Fire Department provided immediate medical aid.

Zrebiec was transported by ambulance to the Williamson Airport, where he was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

He sustained multiple serious injuries.

Zrebiec was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition, where he remains.

The New York State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, the New York State Department of Transportation, and the Department of Environmental Conservation responded to the scene.

A minor fuel leak was contained and reported under DEC Spill #2505502.

The roadway was closed for several hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

At this time, there are no indications of drug or alcohol involvement.
