JAMESTOWN — Officers from the Jamestown Police Department responded to two separate incidents on the city’s Eastside and south side on Sept. 1 and Sept. 2.
On Sept. 1 around 10:51 p.m., officers with the 3rd Platoon were dispatched to an address on the Eastside for a reported domestic dispute.
An investigation determined that 50-year-old Pedro Rosa allegedly grabbed the victim by the neck and applied pressure.
Rosa was located at the scene and transported to the city jail.
He has been charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and is housed in the city jail pending arraignment.
On Sept. 2 at approximately 2:15 a.m., officers of the 3rd Platoon were patrolling the south side when they observed a masked male pushing a black motorcycle down a side street.
When officers attempted to stop the individual, he dropped the motorcycle and fled on foot toward the Chadakoin River.
Officers found the male lying in the river near the west bank and issued verbal commands for him to exit.
While leaving the river, the individual attempted to discard an imitation Sig-Sauer P320 BB gun, which officers recovered.
Police identified the male as 18-year-old Jamie Clifton Jr., who was taken into custody and transported to the city jail without incident.
Clifton is charged with resisting arrest.
Under New York State bail reform, Clifton was released on an appearance ticket.
Police said additional charges are expected.
