JAMESTOWN — A 32-year-old Lakewood resident was arrested Saturday afternoon after fleeing from police officers on his bicycle, according to the Jamestown Police Department.
Officers from the department’s 1st platoon attempted to stop Zachary A. Hernandez at about 1:13 p.m. for riding his bicycle on a city sidewalk in the area of McKinley Avenue at Park Street.
Hernandez failed to comply with officers’ verbal commands to stop and fled on his bicycle.
He was taken into custody shortly after on Forest Avenue at Warner Place.
Hernandez was transported to the Jamestown City Jail on outstanding bench warrants.
He was additionally charged with riding a bicycle on a city sidewalk and resisting arrest.
Hernandez is being held pending his arraignment.
