JAMESTOWN — Police arrested six people over a five-day period on charges ranging from drug possession to domestic violence and trespassing, according to department media releases.
On Aug. 25 at 9:02 a.m., officers observed Jaysen Galarza-Santos standing on the corner of Newland Avenue and Forest Avenue.
Officers had prior knowledge that Galarza-Santos had a valid warrant from Lakewood Busti Police Department.
Galarza-Santos was taken into custody and during a search incident to arrest, officers found him in possession of illegal drugs.
He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third, fourth and seventh degrees.
Galarza-Santos was also held on a detainer for the warrant from Lakewood Busti Police Department.
On Aug. 27 at approximately 10:19 p.m., officers responded to a residence on the east side of the city for a reported domestic dispute.
Officers made contact with Dakota A. Martin and determined during the investigation that Martin had caused damage to property belonging to the victim.
Martin was taken into custody without incident and charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree.
On Aug. 28 at approximately 4:15 p.m., officers responded to an eastside address for a trespass call.
Officers observed a male inside the vacant residence and found William Blakey hiding underneath a bed.
Blakey was taken into custody without incident and charged with criminal trespass in the second degree.
On Aug. 29 at about 4:42 p.m., officers responded to a north side address for a domestic dispute.
Officers learned that Justin A. Conklin had applied pressure to the throat of the victim, causing the victim to be unable to breathe.
Officers were informed that Conklin also struck the victim several times in the face, head and shoulders causing injury.
Through further investigation, officers learned that Conklin committed the same actions the night prior.
Conklin was located later in the evening and charged with two counts of strangulation in the second degree and two counts of assault in the second degree due to the victims being over age 65 and Conklin being more than 10 years younger.
On Aug. 29 at about 6:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of a domestic incident at a westside address.
During the investigation, officers determined that 26-year-old Jamestown resident Matthew J. Sedlmayer repeatedly punched the victim in the face in the presence of three minors under age 16.
Officers established that there was a refrain from order of protection in place between Sedlmayer and the victim.
When officers attempted to take Sedlmayer into custody, a brief struggle ensued and Sedlmayer caused damage to property belonging to the Jamestown Police Department.
Sedlmayer was charged with assault in the third degree, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, criminal mischief in the third degree, resisting arrest and aggravated criminal contempt.
On Aug. 30 at approximately 4:14 a.m., officers conducted a street check of Damion L. Carlson who had an active arrest warrant from the city of Jamestown.
Carlson was placed into custody and a search of his property found that he was in possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Carlson was charged with his active arrest warrant and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
